U101 – How can students correct their answers in a widget?
In the widget types Quiz, Video Quiz, Worksheet or Split Worksheet, enable the setting General > Correction and scoring options > Allow students to correct/update answers.
If you enable the option General > Correction and scoring options > Allow students to correct/update answers in a Quiz, Video Quiz, Worksheet or Split Worksheet, students that send in their answers will find a pencil icon in the top-right corner of the screen where the check mark or envelope icon used to be. When clicked, students will be able to return to editing the widget.
When the aforementioned option is enabled, another option will appear: Lock correct answers when updating. This option will lock all the questions that the student got right, and will only allow them to edit the remaining questions.
Note: Lock correct answers when updating will only lock questions as a whole. If you have, for example, a fill-in-the-blanks question with mutliple blanks, the student needs to have answered all input fields correctly before the question is locked.
When students rework their answers this way, they can send in a new submission when they're ready(unless you have shared the widget in an LMS and have restricted the amount of submissions to one by means of the option Reporting > Allow student to submit only once). Every submission that a student sends is available for review in your BookWidgets account.
