U072 – Why are images missing in the PDF version of my widget?

If you look at a PDF version of your widget, the images that the widget contains may sometimes be replaced with the text strings of the image's file name instead. It depends on the specific instance or 'type' of PDF widget you're viewing.

The images will not render if the widget overview:

  • is contained inside a PDF file that is an attachment of an email that was sent from student to teacher.
  • contains your own results of answers you sent to yourself by means of test, straight from Preview mode, if the widget in question has never been shared before and which, as a result, does not have a shortcode yet.
  • was generated from the Print option inside Preview or Student view, but you disabled the option to show images / background images from the browser-specific dialogue before exporting to PDF.
